Address 1911 Addison Street, Berkeley, CA, 94704-1101 Asians for Job Opportunities in the Bay Area, Inc. (AJOB) is a nonprofit community-based organization which provides employment, training and bilingual social services to the unemployed and underemployed who reside in the Bay Area. Founded in 1974, AJOB has served over 15,000 people, and it continues to assist the socioeconomically disadvantaged break the cycle of poverty. AJOB is a school, a placement service as well as a social services agency. As a school, AJOB provides vocational English as a second language, clerical, computer literacy, cashiering and building maintenance occupational job training skills. As a job placement service, AJOB provides assistance with resume writing, job search and job placement. Finally, as a social services agency, AJOB provides assistance ranging from information and referral to individual counseling. The training services are free to any U.S. citizen, permanent resident or refugee and all three services: training, employment and bilingual social services are free to those who are eligible under the grants AJOB receives. Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. $20 registration fee for occupational skill classes. B,D,V.
