The Japanese Music Institute of America (JMI) was founded to introduce the highest-quality Japanese classical music to an American audience. Since then, JMI has fostered appreciation and study of both traditional and contemporary musical repertoires, offering both private instruction and ensemble training as part of its curriculum. A Nikkei Family Legacy Project

REEL NIKKEI STORIES is a project of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC) designed to teach young Nikkei about Japanese American history by empowering them with the confidence, the training and the tools to interview, permanently document and share the untold stories of their Nisei relatives. REEL NIKKEI STORIES offers training toolkits, workshops and a website to assist individuals interested in collecting their families’ oral histories.
